Board Meeting minutes of July 18, 2016
Chairman Monn called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI
Present: Chairman Monn, Supervisors Melissa Schutz and Steve Nielsen, Maintenance Kevin Finder and Clerk-Treasurer Valerie Windsor, townspeople Jeff and Connie Larson and Joe Atwood.
Motion to approve June minutes as mailed was made by R. Monn, 2nd by M. Schutz. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance on hand as of June 1, 2016 $6,886.05
June Receipts $16,482.76
Less June Disbursements $21,561.81
Balance as of June 30, 2016 $1,885.63
Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report as mailed was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by M. Schutz, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Maintenance Report: Kevin talked to the county about the road signs as some of them are starting to peel on top. County has spoken with 3M and they say it’s the birds that are causing it. There is no warranty.
Had been having some trouble with the truck again, but seems like its fixed now.
Cattle at large in the township (6 head). Residents are working on getting them in a bull pen.
Chairman Report: Mailing about the fire insurance was sent out.
Supervisor Reports: None
Clerk-Treasurer Report: Shirley Rostamo and Mona Finder are going to Chief Inspector training for elections.
Committee Reports: Plan Commission – met last Wednesday, had all 5 members. Went over more of the Comprehensive Plan, getting more of it wrapped up. Planning to meet on Monday, August 7th.
Fire/ Ambulance: Date set on August 3rd for the opening of the bids on the design of the fire building.
Rich asked Chief Feeney (Ambulance) about getting radon kits for residents. The fire district is going to purchase 100 and will hand them out to residents during Pickle Fest in August.
New Business: Joe Atwood called Rich and let him know that our building inspector, Lee Fochs, has passed away. Joe is willing to step in and be the interim so people can get started with building their homes.
Motion was made that any fees incurred for building inspector (during this period) will be billed through the township. The clerk will then pay the building inspector. Motion was made by R. Monn, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Val will put an ad in the paper for the hiring of a building inspector, reserving the right to reject any and all applicants.
